Little Helping Hands

After a loooong, exhausting, emotional, trying week of not feeling good and missing some VERY special days, we are back in full swing. Benji was the one who got hit hard with it. It was the weirdest stomach bug we've had. Some of the kids and me had a day when we felt not-so-hot, but (fingers-crossed) that's been it.

He has long discovered that if you dump over the WHOLE toy box it's much easier than digging thru the toys one-by-one. He also has discovered that Mommy makes him pick them up. One-by-one!

After hundreds thousands of attempts, I 'semi-successfully' created a button for this blog ALL.BY.MYSELF.

Well, maybe not ALL by myself. I found this nifty blog. She tells you how to creat your blog button. Then she helps you create that nifty scrolling text box. Then she even helps you change your html code thingy so you can put it inside your box.. without the code making a picture!!

So while ALL 4 of my kids napped this afternoon, (ahem) this is what I did. Not exactly a very productive afternoon. I won't tell you the troubles I had, or about the headache I now have. I should have handed everything over to her.. my go-to-for-any-blog-problems girl. What took me all afternoon, she could have done in the blink of her eye. But I am proud I just did this all.by.myself.

So now that I went thru all this trouble, I better see this blog on your sidebars.

And NO! I'm not interested in making a button for YOUR blog! :)

Bits and Pieces

On John's actual birthday (the 14th) we had a little party with just our family. He opened his present from the kids (Mr. Potato-Head), then we had cupcakes. We've been LOVING sweet corn from the garden!

She's been willing to let me try new hair-do's. I found if I call them 'princess braids' or 'princess twists' or a 'princess do'.. she's game for me to try it. But if I call it just a plain, 'ol regular braid/ponytail- she'll wrinkle her nose! This day we were trying to master the 'chain'. I can't find my side-view picture :( Ahem! He left his baby flamingo outside ALL.NIGHT.LONG. The moment he woke up, he discovered it was out there. So he rushed to rescue it. Mom, of course took advantage of the photo opportunity!! :)

The very 'unorganized' picture of the 4 kids (I have an absolutely adorable picture of the 3 kids; they climbed on the bed and just took their 1st look at their new baby brother with Mom! But I my scanner won't work)

Big brother claimed John as his own. I have countless pictures from the past 2 years of them together. But this is one of my favorites - for many reasons.
Happy 2nd Birthday Tubby!

Although you'll always be the 'baby' of the family, we realize that you are no longer a baby. So today we celebrate you turning 2. We love you for your silly grin, that hearty laugh, those eyes that just sparkle with mischief, those chubby feet that are always on the go, for your adventurous spirit, that never ending determination and so much more. We suppose someday we'll have to stop calling you Tubby. But as long as you still answer to it, we'll keep using it!
