just a taste..

We had a great (too short) weekend at my parents. It had been 1 1/2 yrs since we were THERE last. (Mom and Dad have been up to see us countless times in-between, thankfully!) As always its SO good to be back home. And since it was my bday week end (actually, today is my bday).. it was even nicer!
Smiling in our Sunday best!
G'pa and G'ma with all their grandkids. Great G'ma Marx
I have many more pictures to post.. but they will have to wait!

Add one more...

....to the list of kids potty-trained in our house!
Katie-bug!! Hip-hip-hooray! She turned 3 in April, (so she's 3 yrs 2 mos). I know many people with kids/girls her age that were trained waaay before now. Alot of people have that 'theory' of kids needing to be trained before they are 3, or *gasp* something is wrong. I must have become calloused to hearing the remarks, about her not being trained by 3, because I really didn't care! :) I wasn't worried at all. She is still hit-n-miss at night (but who cares.. really) During the day she's done GREAT! (She also only wears UNDERWEAR, not 'undies' or 'panties')
After battling with Benji for way too long, I told myself when Carolyn was ready, I was ready. If it was before 3, great, if it was after 3, I didn't care. Carolyn literally trained overnight (she was 3 yrs 3 mos old). I used that same method with Katie. And it's worked great. Now if only Tubby was trained, I'd have no more diapers. (he actually love to sit on the potty and 'stand' by the big one - but at 21 mos I highly doubt he's ready)

weekend overload

Friday night we celebrated our 7th anniversary with family.Saturday Emily turned 5!Daddy teasing John with cake and ice cream!Giving A. Tanya frosting, I mean kisses :)The kids watching 'snake' fireworks Benji and the toad that must have 9 lives - he survived, (barely) 9 kids that night! Fireworks - girls will be girls
Ohh! Ahh! John LOVED the fireworks!
If the shoe fits, just alittle bit...wear it! *Notice how she has the strap between her toes! Our pistol-packing Mama!
My what big ears you have Carolyn!
And no birthday party would be complete with out Woody!
John figured out the 'sit-n-spin'
Happy Father's Day Daddy! We celebrated with his side of the family Sunday afternoon!

How we'll be spending the next few days...

I cheated and bought them already picked. It cost just a tad more, but with 4 kids and this hot-humid weather, it is worth every single dollar extra I spent. I still plan on taking the older kids to pick at the patch, maybe. But then we can pick on their terms, not Mommy's. We had a weekend full of fun times. Our 7th anniversary, Emily turned 5, Fathers Day... I'll get pictures up as soon as I get these strawberries out of reach from my 4 'helpers'!
This week proves to be busy- strawberries, cousins, strawberries, appts, pool, strawberries, playing, and packing! Shhh! (Don't tell the kids- we're going to G'pa Ray and G'ma Joyce house for the weekend!!)

Happy Father's Day!

Last year...Daddy- we could go on and on about what a great Daddy you are..
And since today is Father's Day, kids all around the world will be trying to say that THEIR Dad is the best one in the whole wide world...
But we know it isn't true, because...

The worldest greatest Dad is you! And you belong to us!
We are the luckiest kids in the whole wide world. Although we try to make everyday special for you, we hope you enjoy this special day, because everything we do is just for you! We love you to the moon and back again a thousand times!

Love,

Benji, Carolyn, Kathryn and Tubby

Somedays I wonder

Like Father, like son.. this time it's a squirrel at the other end of his sights! (which got away, because Katie was barking like a dog... according to Benji anyways!) Daddy has learned a valuable lesson. Don't leave any tools laying around. EVER. One day when Jacob and Emily were here, the kids found his 'string tape/line' (whatever it's called. it's about 100+ ft, maybe of string rolled up in a tape measure thingy.. you know what I'm talking about right? Good!) Well. I figured it was broken, so he just 'let' them use it. Ahem, not the case, but too late to worry about that. They stretched out the ENTIRE length of it. Winding it around the pine trees and stumps by their sand area.
It doesn't stop there. The white string ended up being an electric fence for their horses (Carolyn, Emily, Katie and Meri). I should have done a video, because pictures don't do justice. But if one of those poor 'horses' touched that fence..it would make a 'horrible noise' (courtesy of the horses) and the horse would go crazy, then just like that tip over! Benji and Jacob were the cowboys of course.
Some days I wonder...where in the world do kids come up with some of this stuff? They know all about electric fences because G'pa has cattle....but they still amaze me with their imaginations!

Knock-Knock

The kids love to knock at the door. Then I'm to pretend I've never seen them before. They usually welcome themselves right in, and invite themselves to lunch/supper and to spend the night here!
On this day, John was the last one inside. Only problem was the door was shut. This is how I found him when I peeked out the window. After sitting for awhile, he got up and knocked on the door. Or more like it- Kicked on the door with his foot! He puts his own hat on. And ONLY will wear it like this!
'Don't EVER shut the door again!'

Tiny peek

I just added a TON of cute pictures to our shutterfly account. Of course, I'm slightly biased, since they are my/our kids! Here's what to expect-

Now it is waay past my bedtime.. g'nite!

Too many cooks?

Rainy day cook-out How does that saying go? "Too many cooks spoil the broth?"
I think that's the case here. As John whacks Benji with his spoon!

Tubby's Turn

Daddy drives a semi. And Daddy some times will take the kids with him. The biggest problem we have, is there's only one seat! Which means the kids have to take turns. Even John gets to go. This adorable little boy, turned 21 months old on Sunday.

thank you

We/I would like to thank everyone for wishing us a Happy 7th Anniversary. In no way does it seem like its been 7 years. And yes, we had an evening to ourselves. For more, click here...

I'll get back to posting pictures of the kids shortly. As always, I have some cute ones. But now all 4 kids are back home, so it's back to reality for this Mommy!
