Happy Holidays.. from our family to yours!

What we've been up to lately....
  • Enjoying Daddy being home...after being gone nearly 2 weeks.
  • Listened to Daddy's new CD over and over and over and over....

  • Playing outside in our piles of snow.

  • Sledding down our hill and behind the 3 wheeler with Boppa!!

  • Enjoyed our special company.

  • Made yummy treats for Xmas Day (gingerbread cookies, 'pretzel hugs', PB balls...)

  • Spent Xmas Eve/Day with my in laws.

  • Both nights all 4 kids stayed over night at Boppa and Gma's :)

  • We're looking forward to spending some time in TN as a whole family while Daddy does some work. (For more info on this, go here)

  • I've learned I can survive without posting a couple times a week. And I'm sure y'all are surviving as well!
  • We are still alive and well, despite not having any pictures or posts to prove it.

Cookie Week

This week we got to decorate cookies twice. We decorated gingerbread cookies at A. Heather's house.
He's only half-done ...... :)

Then... we decorated sugar cookies at our house.

1 birthday party + 9 kids= fun

Sunday we celebrated Larissa's 4th birthday. The pretty pink frosted cake attracted alot of attention from the girls. And produced lots of energy for the party to last into the evening hours. :) Boppa and Gma with their 9 grandkids. Soon they'll have 10 grandkids to squeeze into the picture!
Candy canes, pink lemonade, birthday cake... can we say SUGAR?!

It should've been a video...

Gpa was pulling Benji and John around on the sled. John fell out going around a corner. Gpa and Benji thought it was hilarious to pull the sled just outta John's reach. *Note- Benji thinks this is great.. John's not too sure if it's funny.. but was a good sport about it!
Come on... can't anyone help me!??!
One giant leap.. and he's inside the sled.
And away they go!
Happy, rosy cheeked boy.

What do you do on a perfect Saturday?

Celebrate Gma Joyce's birthday (a few weeks early)Have Gpa Ray pull your sled for hours and hours Play computer games with Gpa Ray
Help Gpa and Gma bring the garbage to the dumpster... dog-sled style!
Cuddle under blankets and read books with Gma
More fun sledding.
Playing in the snow.. no snow is too deep for Tonka!
Pull Aunt Jess on a sled... to the top of the hill, so she can go racing down :)
Sledding. Did I mention we got new sleds the day before my family came? Tell Gpa Ray all about your day.
Eat oranges in your pumpkin dress
Eat chips and cheese dip Make a mess.

We were excited to have my family drive a total of 6 hours, just to spend the majority of Saturday with us. It helped break up the long week of Daddy being gone. Although our time together was short.. we had a blast. Within minutes of them leaving, the kids instantly missed them. Thanks again for the fun day!!

John

As the mother to this little boy, and the 3 children in the previous post. It is my privilege, my right, my place to say that they have to be the 4 cutest kids to ever walk on the face of this earth!!
John.loves.trains.
Look at the grin! And those eyes.. be still my heart.. be still!
I think I'm melting..
Is he not one of the cutest kids you've ever seen? He is lucky to look so sweet, innocent, adorable, melt-your-heart-sweet, cutie-patootie because he is 110% boy. Those baby blues have gotten to Mommy one too many times when he's gotten into mischief. again.

Katie-bug

If you've been reading our blog lately.. you would have realized I'm doing a post of pictures for each of our 4 kids (John's will obviously follow Katie-bug's)

After countless number of times trying to get pictures of the kids.. together and individually.. I realized, the harder I try to get the perfect shot.. well... I don't get what I'm 'aiming' for! So I figured I'd shoot candid shots. Catch the kids in 'whatever' moment.. and hope for the best. Realizing that the picture may not be 'perfect'... mis-matched clothes.. wild hair.. not-so-perfect backgrounds.. but hoping for that million dollar smile my kids flash me when I'm NOT holding my camera!
Here's 'living-in-the-moment' with Katie-bug. (She now prefers to be called Katie-bug.. not Kathryn.. or Katie.. it's Katie-bug)
oh my.. this is gonna be good...

Next kid please!!!
